Since mid-2025, the US government has taken direct equity stakes in Intel, MP Materials, USA Rare Earth, and GlobalFoundries -- not funding these companies, owning pieces of them, filed with the SEC like any other shareholder. It's the same lever as the CIA's In-Q-Tel, just moved to the most visible position it can occupy.
