Green Bay is built around a fact with no real parallel anywhere else in American pro sports: the Green Bay Packers are the NFL's only publicly owned, non-profit franchise -- held by roughly 537,000 shareholders since 1923, with no single owner and no ownership stake that can be sold off to relocate the team. That structure is not incidental to this edition. TitletownTech, the venture firm formed as a direct partnership between the Packers and Microsoft, exists because a fan-owned franchise with a civic mandate can put capital into a region the way a single billionaire owner's side project never would. It led the $3M seed round in Midwest Games, Green Bay's own video game publisher, alongside Tundra Angels and two other Wisconsin-based investors -- a real, sourced deal, not a marketing claim.
