Nevada's real company base has moved well past the casino floor. Light & Wonder and Everi Holdings turned gaming technology and payments into genuine operating companies headquartered in Las Vegas; Switch runs some of the largest data centers in the western US from the same city; Boxabl is manufacturing factory-built modular housing in North Las Vegas at a scale few housing startups reach. A real, still-small biotech cluster -- Heligenics, Equani, MedWand Solutions, X2L Bio -- has formed loosely around UNLV. And the state built its own venture infrastructure to fund it: StartUpNV, AngelNV, Battle Born Venture, Rebel Venture Fund, and Tip of the Spear Ventures are all real, Nevada-based investor firms, not out-of-state funds passing through. UNLV and UNR anchor the two ends of the state.
