Fresno, Kern, and the rest of the Central Valley run the country's most productive stretch of irrigated farmland, real agricultural production most coverage of California skips entirely in favor of the coast. None of these are the Bay Area, LA, or San Diego, and this edition doesn't treat them as smaller versions of any of the three.
